July Meeting MinutesThe July meeting took place at Coulee Creek Florals. Terri Carstens has a beautiful home and beautiful gardens. Terri thanked everyone for making the drive. The farm has been a working farm since 1985. She started doing flowers a couple of years ago and branched out into wedding flowers. She has had a couple event location referrals this year from INPRO members. Tessa from 231 North catered the event. 231 North is mainly an event facility, and they do catering on the side. They have a portable grill (they made delicious hamburgers and New York-style sausages for dinner). The location offers indoor and outdoor facilities and is family run. It can accommodate up to 400 person weddings. You can bring your own caterer with you and 231 North has a pasture golf course. This family business has been doing a lot of golf parties and weddings for about 3 years. News: Scott from Two Cooks With Love Catering arranged for bus(s) for the August meeting to the Heartland Ranch in northern Idaho. He proposed a $5.00 per person to cover half the cost of the transportation. INPRO will pick up the other half. He will send out an email closer with specific pick up locations, but it looks as though it would leave promptly at 515 from Red Lion River Inn's parking lot and have a second stop in the valley or Rathdrum. The actual route is in the works. Gene proposed that when the roster is reprinted, that extras are done for the Christmas Tree Elegance promotion. He also proposes that additional extras are sent to businesses in the Spokane/CdA area who do more than $5 million in revenue. That motion will be voted on at the August meeting. Gene proposes a change to the look of the website. One site he liked the layout of was www.mymontanawedding.com. Beth would be doing the design work on the website. The motion will be discussed again at the August meeting. If you have ideas on items that you think should be on the website, please bring them with you so they can be discussed. Currently we have a triple booth at the bridal fairs. It was proposed and passed that INPRO look into doing a quad booth. Gene will look into the cost and report back in August. Jeff Keen proposed a double ad in the Bride Guide and/or Northwest Bride magazines. Gene will present a proposal in August and Scott will contact Bonnie for a proposal. Chris from Complete Music talked about link exchanging. Is there anyone you'd like to link to? Let Chris know and he will serve as the middle man and contact the businesses for you. Link exchanging with other websites not only increases the chances you'll be seen by potential customers, but also increases the ranking on search engine results. Jeff Keen showed a coat that Sarah Anderson from Anderson Ink personalized for him. Scott reminded us that we still need a caterer for the Heartland 'Ranch meeting. |
Pat and Greg Kroetch from Decades lost their house in the Valley View Fire (see article on page 1). They lost all their business records, etc. Greg is currently in chemo. Chris from Beautiful Photo told us about the promotion he's doing for Spokanimal. There's a $20 donation for Spokanimal which will get your picture taken with your pet at their studio at the Marycliff Center. All proceeds will go to Spokanimal. Guests: Spotlight
