August Meeting Minutes

After a fun filled bus ride from Spokane, bus riders climbed out of the bus to a beautiful wedding chapel nestled in the trees near Farragut State Park. Gary and Becky (the quiet and shy one) Vetch started their wedding facility project in April of 2007 and after a lot of blood, sweat and tears they hosted their first wedding in July of 2007.

The wedding chapel is finished with hand hewn logs benches that Gary created and Becky stained. The entire inside has beautiful natural wood accents, open beam ceilings and a fire place. The wedding chapel holds 120 people.

This year they added an outside wedding area that is not only surrounded by trees but is simply breathtaking; this area can seat 225-250. They have event tents set up for the reception area, with tables and chairs. Their wedding packages include the facility, tables, chairs, tablecloths and centerpieces.

Becky reminded us that she and Gary could not have accomplished this without the help and support of their daughters, Emily and Erika.

Our delicious dinner was served by Becky from Greenbriar; they are located in downtown Coeur d'Alene. We were treated to a wonderful fresh salad with wild huckleberry vinaigrette dressing, a plate a fresh fruit, chicken primavera and beef stroganoff. Greenbriar is now 4 businesses: catering, events, Wild Berry huckleberry and the 315 restaurant. Thank you for a wonderful dinner.

Linda and Bill Steel from Pastry and More brought us a delightful strawberry filled cake for dessert. They are located in the Northern Lights Mall on Hwy 95 in Coeur d'Alene.

A reminder that Tammy's bridal show is September 6. If you want to work the booth please contact Nancy at 509-535-3722.

Our next meeting will bat Crossroads located in Post Falls.

Find out how much you know about the average wedding when you take this quiz.
